Stephen Normand -Great Nephew of MABEL NORMAND

I’m the great nephew of the Silent Film Comedienne Mabel Normand. My work of over 50years to promote the life and career of my often forgotten great aunt, to make her contribution as a pioneer in the art of early motion picture comedy known and recognised for her achievements in a man’s world of the time..producing and directing films, (assisting Chaplin to find a place in film) being the only woman to direct and produce Chaplin, owning her own film company, first to fly in an airplane as she was acting. Having met in the 70’s some of her colleagues Mary Pickford, Minta Durfee, Blanche Sweet & others and acted as a technical advisor for the Broadway Musical Mack&Mabel... today writing about my journey with her over the years to the point where at last she has become a familiar name and face thanks to the musical MACK & MABEL and the showing of her movies at film festivals and on TV/Cable by TCM in America & Talking Movies here in the UK.
